Information Addiction

For the last week or so, I have been listening to Matt Chandler while opening the clinic for the day.  And have recently been thinking about why Bethlehem is scared to love their neighbor.  Not everyone.  Not every neighbor.  But by and large (just looked up this phrase because I didn't know what it was, but knew it belonged here), most Christians are addicted to looking neat and clean.  Well, at least I am.  And so intellectually stimulating thoughts and sermons feed an addiction.   The addiction of self preservation.  Of having the answer, being able to assess the situation well, and correctly respond.  If I ever take out my headphones and put down the books....

NO WONDER I act like a robot and unatural- what a lot of pressure to put on a person.  Sinful, demonic, anti-gospel pressure.

So, it seems more appropriate to listen to teachers and read helpful books, and be pointed back to abiding in Jesus, for the sake of loving people in a messy way.  And this is why God had Paul record Romans 8: There is therefore NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus...

So try something crazy today with me.
