A-Team

Being a romantic at heart (in the idealistic sense) has its blessings and curses. You see the world through rose colored lenses, but there are a lot of unsightly things that need to be seen for as raw as they really are. Anyways, so how does one pursue another person towards marriage when they tend to idealize life (understatement)

Well, probably a good idea to start with objective thoughts, here are the latest:
Jesus is ultimate. Marriage might, best case scenario that two people want it to in the first place, and secondly that it actually does. But then what. We weren't made for a person, but for fellowship with God Almighty and His Son. THAT is intimacy.

So, marriage is the formation of an earthly team that does just that, functions better as the combination of two unique individuals effectively acting as one than the joint sum of their independent skills, strengths, weaknesses and ambitions. Basically you have boy(1) + girl (1) = (3) There can be found unique capacities not thought possible as single people, and these new energies should be used for God's glory amidst (and through) enjoying one another to enjoy Him.

Thing is, it isn't necessarily the BEST girl I should pursue, but the best teammate for my current situation. I take a long time to develop a deep friendship with guys and even longer with girls. So if I am going to get married in the next year or two, its not going to be someone I don't already know, probably. Also, there are certain personality clashes that could easily consume all the energy of the relationship. I am extremely non committal and free spirited about events. So if another individual were to hold scheduled events ultimate, there would have to be an extremely good reason for this relationship to happen.

So many options and possibilites can be considered, because there are so many things we can do with our lives, people are extremely complex, and we have really strong dispositions to mistake making. If it is up to us, ultimately, we should quite now. But its not, and God loves those He has called BY NAME and will not let us fail ultimately. And His Glory will be beheld and shone about, whether timidly or passionately, and Christ's blood will triumph. He cares about both the little and the big pictures. Takes care of salvation and transportation needs.

Thats all.
