I have recently enjoyed the green grass on my fence quite thoroughly. If you are looking for jaded reasons why singles can have their embittered little pity party of self loathing- you have not found the right forum.
That's right my friends. If you are single, I challenge you to enjoy the infinite elasticity of your commitments to the world. My commitments include: paying rent, (going to work) and some small group facilitation duties. (which are really mostly enjoyable even though its work) So, with the other 87 percent of my schedule, I want to try and do stuff that married people can't do.
Marriage has its benefits and is no second place calling, by any means. But it seems my heart and I'm sure yours (past or present) finds no difficulty getting excited about marriage some day (or today hopefully if you are married).
So, single person. Seize the free day in the name of freedom!
